DCT Inc. - A government facilities maintenance contractor is seeking a full time Boiler Operator at its Cincinnati, OH site. DCT Inc. is committed to providing an inclusive, equitable and diverse place of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Preventive maintenance and repair of fluid systems including potable water, steam, condensate, chill water, and hot water. Equipment includes piping, tubing, fittings, tanks, pumps, boilers, softeners, filters, heat exchangers, gauges and measurement devices.

  • Requires the ability to analyze the operation of various systems, determine the cause of any problems/malfunctions and take corrective action as required.

  • Assist other mechanics and operators with major repairs and maintenance of building and equipment. Installs, repairs, and maintains electrical controls, switching and motor controls.

  • Monitors operation and maintains fluid system equipment. Records readings as needed.

  • Documents work performed with the use of mobile device and computerized maintenance management system. Records work performed in legible notes, completes procedure steps as required, logs time on job accurately.

  • Follows direction of supervisor. Communicates well with all team members and client.

  • Complies with departmental policy for the safe storage, usage and disposal of hazardous materials.

  • Maintains a clean and safe work space.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Hourly Pay Rate

$39.09 PER HOUR

Skills & Experience Required:

  • High school diploma or state equivalent required.

  • Minimum 5 years field experience with a Boiler Operator’s license.

  • State of Ohio Underground Storage Tank Class C Operators Licenses.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Good general computer skills with knowledge in E-mail, Internet, Microsoft office.

  • Must be a self-motivated individual who can work independently and in a team environment.

  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and local codes.

  • Visually inspect machinery and buildings.

  • Ability to frequently walk up and down stairs for repairs, inspections and emergency
    procedures.

  • Ability to climb ladders up to 40 feet and lift 60 lbs repeatedly.

  • Ability to detect emergency alarms - auditory and/or visual.

  • Equipment inspections require getting on hands and knees to reach areas difficult to access.
